Blue Heron Tióšpaye

Honoring the Teachings. Sustaining the Land.

Mission

Blue Heron Tióšpaye is dedicated to restoring and sustaining Indigenous relationships with land, culture, and community by honoring the teachings of the Original Tribal peoples of Turtle Island.

Purpose

We create spaces where Indigenous knowledge is practiced, shared, and lived through stewardship of the land, care for wildlife, and the continuation of cultural teachings for future generations.

Our Work

Blue Heron Tióšpaye is an American Indian 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to honoring and centering the ceremonial and ecological teachings of the descendants of the Original Tribal peoples of Turtle Island.

We create sustainable spaces where American Indian culture is present, practiced, and alive, grounded in a direct relationship with the land and wildlife we care for.

Our work focuses on:

  • Land stewardship and restoration

  • Care for wildlife and natural habitats

  • Creating space for Indigenous cultural practices and teachings

  • Supporting intergenerational learning and connection

Future Vision: Returning to Relationship

We are working toward creating a land-based education center where Indigenous knowledge is lived and shared through direct relationship with the land.

This vision includes the return of horses and bison—relatives that carry deep cultural, historical, and ecological significance. Through their presence, we will create space for learning, healing, and reconnection for future generations.

Why Your Support Matters

For Indigenous communities, caring for the land is a responsibility passed down through generations. Our work is guided by relationship, reciprocity, and respect not extraction or ownership.

Your support helps us:

  • Care for and restore land and wildlife habitats

  • Practice Indigenous ecological knowledge on the land

  • Maintain spaces that support long-term stewardship

  • Keep American Indian culture visible, active, and living

This work ensures the land remains healthy for today and for future generations.

Every contribution directly supports Indigenous-led stewardship and cultural presence on the land.
