NMCC activates opportunities with Indigenous communities to achieve economic sovereignty.
• Our Vision
To bridge access to knowledge, technology, space, people, and capital for Native communities through economic and community development.
• Our Why
Founded in 2004, New Mexico Community Capital is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to change the status quo in Native-owned business through tailored mentorship, financial literacy and digital skills programs, and specialized technical assistance and services for tribes and tribal enterprises. We seek to build and support a more equitable future, by providing economic and sustainability tools for success to Indigenous people in New Mexico, and throughout the U.S.
• Our How
Our programs are culturally appropriate, peer-to-peer based, digitally-focused, and results driven. This includes programs like the Native Entrepreneur in Residence program, the Financial & Business Basics program, and Digital Media and Marketing Basics. We are a Grow with Google and Google Cloud Partner, and this enables us to teach skills that address entrepreneur’s needs now, especially as we deal and work in a changing world. We structure our programs through an Indigenous lens, and bring core competencies of mentorship, peer leadership, culturally relevant applications and methods, and a “meet you where you’re at” perspective.
• Our Who
Our vision for the next three years is to implement a regenerative model for excellence by being a nationally-recognized leader in training, teaching, mentorship and thought leadership in Indian Country. NMCC will demonstrate their unique value proposition that demonstrates the blending of today’s digital technology with Indigenous values and peer to peer learning.
Testimonies
“NMCC showed me the power of combining technical assistance with access to capital—especially for Native entrepreneurs often overlooked by traditional systems. Through a pilot nano-fund, we supported a Native woman-owned business in North Dakota, helping her grow and succeed. That experience reinforced my belief that when we invest in Native entrepreneurs with flexibility and trust, they thrive.”
In 2016, Shyla co-founded Bow & Arrow Brewing Co., the first Indigenous women-owned brewery in the U.S., and continues to expand her impact in Native entrepreneurship.

"Ya'teeh, I am a Dine'/Hopi matriarch from Torreon, NM. I am also the owner and operator of Cleo's Blue Corn Kitchen. I began my journey as an entrepreneur doing pop-up sales and small catering. It was definitely challenging to make ends meet when I didn't have access to capital and business knowledge.
NMCC impacted my business through the Business & Marketing Essentials course, individual consultations, referrals, panel discussions, micro loans, grants and capital to upgrade equipment, catering bookings, and the Health is Wealth cohort. The challenges are still there, but so much more manageable.
You have to invest your time, energy and commitment to be successful. I recommend New Mexico Community Capital to grow your business, whether you're in ideation or looking to grow. The support is there.

"NMCC has been a huge help since 1 first took their Financial & Business Basics course in 2020. Since then I have taken their digital marketing course and participated in multiple First Friday and Railyards Markets. NMCC has given me lots of guidance over the years, especialy when applying for funding and perfecting my business pitch. I am very grateful to the organization and the community they have built over the years. I would not be as successful as l am today if it wasn't for them.
