Woodland Heart is an Indigenous-led nonprofit arts organization rooted in the Menominee Territory of Northeastern Wisconsin. We are dedicated to transforming cultural resilience into community power. Guided by the principles of self-determination and collective strength, we honor the legacy of the Menominee people. We create spaces where Indigenous youth and families can reclaim identity, heal through creativity, and lead with confidence. In partnership with Neopit Community Regalia Circle, Woodland Heart revitalizes opportunities for youth in Neopit. We offer hands-on traditional art and dance programs that build pride, discipline, and leadership. Together, we co-create pathways for young people, especially boys ages 10–14, to rediscover cultural expression as a source of empowerment and self-worth.
Our initiatives include the “Let’s Dance” and “Menominee Visual Arts” programs, as well as the Community Regalia Circle. These programs strengthen intergenerational learning, promote cultural continuity, and cultivate the next generation of artists and leaders who are grounded in their heritage and purpose. This collaboration is more than a partnership. It is a movement to restore the spirit of community, amplify Indigenous voices, and build lasting power through art, culture, and self-determination.
