The ACC is a premier hub of Aquinnah Wampanoag culture and engagement—a place for homecoming and a respected source of knowledge and history on the Island and beyond. Guided by our mission to preserve, educate, and document the Aquinnah Wampanoag self-defined history, culture, and contributions—past, present, and future—the ACC is committed to honoring and preserving the traditions, history, and values of Aquinnah Wampanoag people.
As a center for cultural engagement and education, the ACC offers a welcoming space for tribal citizens and our broader community to gather, celebrate, and learn. Through our programs, exhibits, and events, we emphasize intergenerational learning, deepening connections between elders and youth to ensure the survival and adaptation of Wampanoag traditions. At the same time, the ACC serves as a vital space for truth-telling, correcting historical inaccuracies, and fostering mutual understanding among diverse communities. By educating the public about the resilience and contributions of Aquinnah Wampanoag people, the ACC bridges communities and creates opportunities for meaningful dialogue.
