Bdote Learning Center is Dakota and Ojibwe immersion K-8 MN public charter school.
With only a handful of Dakota & Ojibwe 1st language speakers left in Minnesota, Bdote opened its doors in 2014 to help create more speakers of the language.
Learning is place-based, experiential, and academically rigorous. Students are immersed in rigorous, active, interdisciplinary learning projects, often involving learning outside of school walls. Curriculum content is tied to the geographical surroundings of the school, the local history, landscape, ecology, and Native languages and cultures. The curriculum and program are aligned with MN State standards. Students will graduate fluent in Dakota or Ojibwe and will be academically prepared for post-secondary education.
Support Bdote Learnig Center during Give to the Max 2024 as we fundraise for healthy afternoon snacks for classrooms, Christmas presents and fun field trips for the next year. Your donation will help teachers and staff to create more speakers of the language so that the language does not vanish.
