The Borikua Taíno Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the Borikua Taíno Nation through cultural revitalization, education, sovereignty, community well-being, and sustainable development. Rooted in ancestral wisdom and guided by the principles of self-determination, we work to protect our heritage, strengthen our communities, and build a thriving future for generations to come.
Our Mission
Our mission is to uplift the Borikua Taíno people by advancing culturally grounded education, preserving our traditional homelands, expanding tribal services, and fostering resilience in every aspect of community life. We are committed to safeguarding our identity, revitalizing our traditions, and supporting long-term wellbeing for our nation.
What We Do
Provide traditional and culturally aligned education programs.
Develop tribal-service initiatives that support community health, wellness, and self-sufficiency.
Lead land-preservation and stewardship efforts throughout Borikén.
Revitalize Borikua Taíno language, culture, art, and ancestral practices.
Help manage a tribally owned data center, supporting digital sovereignty, secure infrastructure, and technological independence for our Nation.
Provide emergency and natural disaster relief, helping Borikua communities stay safe, supported, and resilient during crises.
Support projects such as Yucayekeño Connect, which strengthens community networks and digital access within Borikua Taíno yucayeques.
Support the Indigenous Archives of Puerto Rico, preserving and protecting historical records, cultural materials, and ancestral knowledge for future generations.
