Changemakers Community Economic Development Corporation

A nonprofit organization

Changemakers Community Economic Development (ChangeMakers Hawaiʻi) is a grassroots nonprofit organization rooted in equity, resilience, and aloha. We empower communities across Hawaiʻi—especially those most impacted by systemic barriers—through innovative economic and leadership development programs. Our kuleana (responsibility) is to foster self-determined, community-driven change that uplifts individuals and strengthens ʻohana (family), while honoring the ʻāina (land) and Native Hawaiian values.

We deliver culturally grounded education, training, and mentorship to help individuals, small businesses, and nonprofits to build economic stability and pursue their vision. Through initiatives like Philanthropono Kanakanomics, ʻĀinapreneurs, and KanakaMob, ChangeMakers Hawaiʻi centers the voice, leadership, and innovation of the people we serve—especially Native Hawaiian, Indigenous, and underserved communities.

Our approach is relational, not transactional — nurturing long-term partnerships built on trust, respect, and mutual learning. We collaborate closely with community leaders, kūpuna (elders), and emerging changemakers to spark systems change that are sustainable, just, and rooted in place.

Join us as we reimagine a future where communities are thriving, culturally grounded, and economically empowered—from mauka to makai (mountains to sea).
