Ileihno Bopachemihn Inc dba Tribal Oak Tree FFA

A nonprofit organization

Since our establishment in 2017, Ileihno Bopachemihn Inc., dba Tribal Oak Tree Foster Family Agency, has served as a vital resource for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) children involved in the child welfare system. As a nonprofit foster family agency, we recruit and certify resource families committed to providing safe, culturally supportive homes for Native youth, in accordance with the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). Through monthly cultural gatherings, we offer opportunities for foster children to connect with their heritage and community, ensuring they remain connected to their cultural identity during times of transition. Presently, we are the only Native non-profit foster family agency operating within the state of California. In addition to our foster care services, we have developed a behavioral health program aimed at serving American Indian and Alaska Native families. This program supports the training and development of Native clinicians and therapists and provides essential behavioral health services to our community. Our ongoing efforts promote cultural wellness and support healing within Native families. Our in-house mental health services include individual, group, and family therapy tailored to the unique experiences, traumas, and strengths of Indigenous people. As an Indigenous nonprofit organization, we are committed to protecting children, strengthening families, and preserving cultural identity.
