Local Indians for Education Inc. (LIFE Center) Is the second Oldest Indigenous Created & Operated Non-Profit/Extended Education Facility in the US. Life Center serves as a common ground for all Indigenous people in Northern California. Our organization endeavors to adhere to the original collective goal of our Founding Elders, providing a safe educational environment, an intersection between Tribal Entities, Individuals, & Organizations with an emphasis on expanding education through a culturally informed, centered & guided approach to community care. Life Center is an inter-tribal collaboration that adheres to the Customs of the local Tribes while encouraging diversity through shared & parallel experiences, perspectives & traditions of all Indigenous people of Turtle Island. We service all Indigenous Peoples residing on Wintu, Pit River & Yana homelands (Shasta County, Northern California).
