Vision:

We envision a society that embraces Indigenous values of reciprocity and respect with all beings. Our actions are grounded in ceremony, justice, and love in support of regenerative communities.

Mission:

Native Movement is dedicated to building people power, rooted in an Indigenized worldview, toward healthy, sustainable, & just communities for ALL. We support grassroots-led projects that align with our vision, that endeavor to ensure social justice, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, and the rights of Mother Earth.

Native Movement is honored to do this work within community and to do so in partnership with many other ally organizations. Over the years, we have been able to witness the results of grassroots efforts across the state as seen through increased positive visibility of Alaska Native people, a shift in the dominant narrative, deeper understandings of on-going settler colonialism, increased voter engagement, and building and supporting new leaders. We look forward to continued learning, collective growth, and revolutionary movement building. 

We are currently in a moment of securing Native Movement organizationally as we can for the rough waters ahead. Native Movement remains commited to our vision and mission. While there have been challenges this year, all baskets of our work have carried a tremendous amount of goodness, learnings, care, thoughtfulness, and beautiful growth.
