Queens Court

The Queen’s Court is a movement of the Lāhui (the nation). We are dedicated to the restoration of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Our work is a response to 130 years of occupation and land theft. We are guided by Aloha ‘Āina—love for the land—and the necessity of protecting it from the colonial forces that occupy Hawaii today.

History: The Unbroken Kingdom

In 1893, the sovereign government of the Hawaiian Kingdom was overthrown by foreign businessmen backed by the United States military. Our Queen, Liliʻuokalani, was imprisoned in her own palace to prevent the death of her people. She never gave up our sovereignty. We recognize that the Kingdom still exists under international law. The Queen’s Court exists to ensure the Kingdom remains alive until our independence is restored.

The Reality of Occupation

Today, our people struggle to survive in our own home. The current system is built for the profit of the tourist industry and the comfort of foreigners, not for the Kanaka Maoli.

• Stolen Lands: Our ancestral lands are occupied by military bases, hotels, and vacation rentals. Our people are being priced out and displaced.

• Tourism and Foreign Influx: Our sacred sites are treated as recreation. Our water is diverted for foreign use, and our culture is used as entertainment for visitors.

• The Toll on our People: We see the results of this occupation in our health, poverty, and the high number of our people in prison. These are the results of a system designed to remove us from our land.

The ʻOnipaʻa Peace March

The ʻOnipaʻa Peace March is our annual stand. We march to honor Queen Liliʻuokalani and to show that the Hawaiian Kingdom still lives through us. This is not a parade; it is a mobilization. We march to teach our youth, to support our Kūpuna, and to remind the world that we have not forgotten our land.

Our Kuleana: Hoʻihoʻi Hou Ā Ke Kūlana Mua

Our mission is Hoʻihoʻi Hou Ā Ke Kūlana Mua—to return to the original state. We are working to:

• Restore the ‘Āina: Reclaiming our connection to the land through wetland restoration and Kalo cultivation.

• Protect Protocol: Our Director of Kiaʻi & Kahili Bearers guards our traditional ceremonies and sacred spaces.

• Educate the Lāhui: Through youth mentorship and the Legacy Voices programs, we are raising a generation of Kanaka ready to lead the Kingdom.
