We are a Native 501C3, we have survived the Spanish, French, English, and still surviving the USA. The Tribe had no education till 1918 when the Live Oak Pond Indian School was established. Our Native people could not attend any other school and could only get an eighth grade education. This school ran from 1918 to 1965. with no transportation and great distances many got no education at all. This put our people at a great disadvantage, even to this day. We were cheap laborers, could not vote, could not participate in any sports, had to go to rear of restaurants and get food there. So many things to hold us down and weizens. The effects still extend to this day and puts many behind in society. We are trying to remand Native, and we are trying to bring back language, many ceremonies, take care of our elders and youth, many Tribal things that we re lost. Although we have progressed a long way we still need help. We have a constitution and bylaws, a Tribal council, Tribal meetings monthly, We are 501C3. Our Tribe has two partials of land, with a community meeting building. We have been recognized by the State Legislators, all counties and cities on the Mississippi gulf coast . We are also recognized by the Jackson County courts. We are still fighting, and not giving up. Any help our way would be greatly appreciated, and help us keep moving forward. Yakoke And Blessings
