The Winnebago Health Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that works toward improving the quality of life by supporting the health system and building the healthcare capacity in Winnebago and the native communities we serve. The Foundation enables our relatives to join us in the Winnebago (Hocak) traditional value of "Hoikikara ra" or "taking care of one another."
The Winnebago Health Foundation was established in 2023 in a collaboration by the Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. As a financially independent 501c3 nonprofit, our Foundation relies on contributions from individual donors, community partners, grants, businesses, and other foundations to support our crucial work.
With help in raising awareness and funding, our donors and volunteers join us in "Hoikikara ra" or "taking care of one another" as we face the greatest health challenges on the reservation head on. Together, we can advocate for healthy lifestyles and help tribal members avoid chronic health issues.
