Listen to several Freedmen Descendants we interviewed for our film documentary project titled: "Discover History With The Freedmen on SE Oklahoma". The 1 hr film documentary will be featured if selected in several Oklahoma, TX,& other Film Festivals & Cinemas beginning Summer 2026. 

Freedmen Descendants in the documentary tell how their ancestors both Freedmen & Mixed Blood Choctaws in 1830s traveled from Mississippi on the "Trail of Tears" and settled in SE Oklahoma. They continued to cohabitate with the Choctaws and created new towns and communities leaving behind stories, landmarks, documentation & other historical ties with people in these towns and communities (known today as Harris, Idabel, Valliant, Tom, and Shawneetown).  

Our Fund Raising campaign is to help & support us (CFCF Inc. Non-profit EIN# 87-3711805) in a distribution impact & marketing campaign where the 1 hour 4 min. film documentary will be featured at Film Festivals, etc. Your donations at tax deductible and are needed to help us educate the public, share ancestral stories with each other, and build a digital archive for future generations so our history will not be lost.
