Honoring Heritage. Healing Through Connection.

Two Powers Land Collective is an Indigenous-led nonprofit rooted in the Amskapi Pikuni (Blackfeet) homelands and guided by the sacred spirit of Two Medicine (Naatookyookaasii). Our mission is to honor our heritage as horse people by offering equine-assisted psychotherapy and equine-assisted learning grounded in Indigenous traditions. We uplift women’s leadership, promote social justice, and support youth and families through connection to the cultural heritage of Blackfeet horse people, the healing power of horses, and the Land in Two Medicine.

Our work is guided by the story of Two Medicine, where our ancestors restored balance to the Land through courage, unity, and ceremony. This teaching reminds us that healing comes through relationship — with the Land, the People, and the Horse.

At the heart of our organization is the White Rider Healing Ranch, a new initiative inspired by the life and legacy of Wyatt Mad Plume, a young man whose deep love for horses continues to guide our purpose. To Wyatt, horses were not just animals but relatives — loyal companions and healers. In his honor, White Rider Healing Ranch serves as a place of renewal and connection, combining Blackfeet cultural traditions with equine medicine to support youth, adults, and families facing mental health challenges, trauma, and substance use.

Through the Ranch, we offer Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Therapeutic Riding, Horsemanship, and Equine-Assisted Learning, led by a dedicated team of Amskapi Pikuni Ponokamiitatopii (Horse People) and licensed professionals. Together, we blend cultural knowledge and clinical care to promote holistic healing and personal growth — nurturing the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of both people and horses.

Our additional initiatives, including Ponokamíta Academy and the Holding Hope Search and Rescue Team—the first Indigenous mounted team with equine scenting horses in the nation—further our commitment to healing and safety through culture. Across all our work, we remain grounded in Blackfeet values of kinship, generosity, and reciprocity.

Two Powers Land Collective exists to restore what colonization sought to break — our relationships with the Land, with one another, and with the Horse. By reconnecting our people to these sacred bonds, we ensure that healing, identity, and balance continue for generations to come.
